| Course Description |
This course is designed to complement and enhance your Spanish/European
experience. We will cover the economic history of Spain and
the European Union. The course will concentrate on three important
historical/economic events: (1) the decline of Spain during
the 17th Century; (2) the Spanish Industrial Revolution of the
1960s; and (3) European integration, especially recent strides
toward monetary integration. |

| Grading |
Your grade will be based on class attendance and two exams,
the first covering Spanish Economic History and the second covering
European Union Economic History. Each exam is worth 40% of your
grade, and attendance is worth 20%. See the course schedule

| Attendance |
Since this course will take place in Madrid and some students
might need an incentive to actually attend class, attendance
is mandatory and 20% of your course grade will be based on attendance.
If you cannot attend class for any reason, please contact the
