Dr. Jewell received a PhD from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1992. He is currently an associate professor and graduate advisor in the Department of Economics at the University of North Texas. Dr. Jewell is an applied microeconomist, and his research has appeared in well-respected journals such as Health Economics, Journal of Health Economics, Economic Inquiry, Southern Economic Journal, Public Choice, Industrial Relations, Journal of Sports Economics, and International Journal of Industrial Organization. His current areas of research include microfinance in Latin America, Mexican immigration to the US, and health issues in Latin America.
Prof. McPherson received a doctorate in economics from Michigan State University in 1992, with specializations in economic development, econometrics, and international trade. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of North Texas. Prof. McPherson was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to carry out research and teach at Makerere University in Uganda during the 1995-96 academic year. Prof. McPherson's research has appeared in top journals such as Journal of Development Economics, Economic Inquiry, Public Choice, Journal of Economic Education, Applied Economics, Contemporary Economic Policy, and World Development. His current areas of research include microfinance in Latin America, Mexican immigration to the US, and economic education.
Prof. Molina received a doctorate in economics from Texas A&M in 1983, with specialization in mathematical economics, international trade, and consumer economics. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of North Texas. He has also been associated with Louisiana State University, New Mexico State University and Colegio de La Frontera Norte in Monterrey Mexico. He is past president of the Association of Borderland Studies. He has three books and many chapter publications and his research has appeared in well-respected journals such as American Economic Review, Review of Economic and Statistics, Land Economics, Economic Inquiry, Econometric Review, Journal of Economic Issues. His current areas of research include microfinance in Mexico, Mexican immigration to the US, income distribution in Mexico and Mexican and US Hispanic consumer expenditures.
