Job Title: entry level Planner/Buyer

Job Description:

manufacturer of industrial maintenance products. World headquarters located in Irving, Texas.

Reporting Relationship:  The Planner/Buyer position reports to the Vice President and the
General Manager of Lubricants.  

Central Purpose: 
Manages the entire depth of the lubricant product line.  Responsible for managing the mix
of purchased and manufactured finished goods to maintain service levels and maximize working
capital of this fast growth product category.  The planner / buyer will communicate with
Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Distribution and suppliers to
meet the requirements of the company’s operating plan.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identify and develop good working relationships with lubricant manufacturers 
Reduce delivered price through effective negotiation and re-sourcing  
Develop policies and procedures to optimize outsourcing 
Routinely monitor fluctuating lubricant cost of goods
Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs
Participate in pro-active communication with production staff 
 
Requirements:
B.S. in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or equivalent
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting
Advanced working knowledge of Excel software
Travel up to 20%
