Job Title: Senior Consultant, Strategic Sourcing

Location: Irving, TX

Job Specification:

multi-national, manufacturer of industrial maintenance products. Our world headquarters
is located in Irving, Texas.

Reporting Relationship:
Reports to Vice President of Purchasing & Logistics

Central Purpose:
The central purpose of this position is to assist the VP of Purchasing in reducing overall 
cost of goods through the analysis of current purchasing practices and procedures and the
identification of alternate sources, products, warehousing and etc.

Metrics:
The success of this position will be measured by the identification and implementation 
by the incumbent of significant purchasing cost reductions resulting in overall 
COGS reduction.

Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will have:
  -Specific business knowledge to successfully develop purchasing forecasts and annual budgets
  -A good understanding of financial analysis, budget planning, purchasing, supply chain
    management, and ERP systems; Oracle 11i preferred
  -Proven track of developing and implementing successful strategic philosophies 
    and systems that directly impact a reduction in cost of goods
  -Multi-industry experience

Responsibilities:
  -Originate, gain approval, implement, manage, track and report cost of 
    good savings projects
  -Identify the balance between customer service requirements, material costs, and 
    manufacturing efficiencies, and ensure implementation of appropriate tactics to
    achieve goals
  -Engage directly with key individuals in Marketing, Sales, R&D, Accounting and 
   MFG to fully understand their needs and expectations and develop approaches that 
    are a win-win for them and the strategic objectives
  -Work with Senior Management in coordinating cost of goods reductions in accordance 
    with principles, policies, and procedures established by the company
  -Comply with all local, state, and federal regulatory and safety requirements  
  -Contribute to bi-annual performance based evaluations

Education & Experience:
  -Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or other analytical field.  
   (Masters Degree preferred but not required)
  -3-5 years experience in management consulting or financial/business analysis with an 
   emphasis in strategic sourcing

Special Preferences:
  -International experience, especially with China and other Asia/Pacific markets
