WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

BA/BA in finance, accounting, economics or business
Minimum of one year in financial analysis, accounting position preferably in financial services
Must have acceptable scores on The Hartford’s underwriting assessment
Must have basic financial analysis skills to read and analyze financial statements of companies
Critical thinking skills are a core competency that is required for this position, must also have key
competencies in building effective relationships, excellent written verbal communication skills, and sales
competencies

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

Apply knowledge of financial analysis to bond customers. Must be able to read, understand and analyze
financial statements and make recommendations based on the analysis as to the financial stability of the company.

Learn all of the lines of business, products, key issues and how the business makes money.

Be highly skilled in all systems, technology, required forms etc. for the 3 lines.

Participate in underwriting analysis for bond business making recommendations to more senior underwriters.

Observe agency/client relationships and co-travels with senior underwriters to learn about the needs of the
customers, and how to cultivate critical relationships.

Develop internal relationships and understand how the bond group works – inter-relationships within bond
(i.e. claims, technology, finance,etc.) and how bond fits into the larger picture of The Hartford.

WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION OPPORTUNITY?


At the Hartford, our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay competitive base salaries and reward performance.
The base salary for this position ranges from $40,000 to $50,000. In addition, you will be eligible to participate
in our comprehensive benefits program including Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance, a 401K Plan, an
Employee Stock Purchase Plan and more.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU TELL ME?
The positions will be based temporarily in Denver, CO and Atlanta, GA for the first 4 months for training.
Temporary housing will be provided.

After training, the positions will be based in the western region and in the southern central region.  Possible
permanent sites could be Dallas, Southern California, Louisville, and Washington, DC.
